Rapid Attack Truck
(RAT)
May 23, 2007

You should be
thrilled to hear that as of the 23rd of May we will have a
big red RAT residing in our fire station. Why would you be happy about
such a thing? Well, RAT stands for Rapid Attack Truck and it will be
the first new engine our department has ever owned. Because this engine
incorporates the newest firefighting apparatus technology it can do most
of the work now done by three of our aging trucks. I must give a great
deal of credit to the volunteers that have kept our engines running
reliably for so many years and to the past and present administrations
that have saved the down payment money needed to make this new vehicle a
reality. Wayne Marx
