In the event of a large fire, SFE has mutual aid agreements with Communities
nearby, the US Forest Service and BNSF Railroad, to help suppress fires that might endanger our community.
What can you
do to help?
To help maintain a
safer community, the SFE FD asks that all neighbors maintain a
defensible space (30’) around homes & structures raking up and/or
removing pine needles, dead branches from trees and storing firewood
away from your home. Removing pine needles helps protect the area from
ground fires often an issue with undeveloped lots.
Please follow fire
conditions posted at the SFE entrance.
No campfires, charcoal fires or other fires are allowed during very
high, extreme or red flag conditions. During other
conditions, always use caution, have plenty of water handy, and be sure
that your fire is really out when you leave it. If you plan a to burn
needles & branches on your property (when allowed), please inform the
Fire Department and the US Forest Service in advance (928 635-5600).
